Edit & Review - Final Task

Hello bloggers! My last recent blog about feedback was Isaac's perspective on our film. I really appreciate the fact that we had some good criticism. This will help me and my team to improve our skills. Now I will go over what we did to fix that.

Although the acting was not a specialty of ours according to Isaac, we did a few voice-overs to make it sound more natural. The team and I believed the movement was good, but the dialog is definitely what needed work. So we agreed with Isaac there. We made sure the voice over was realistic. Something we would say in real life. Also, in the beginning we added a voice over of the detective ( Jaden) just so we can have more of a plot. As well as include the detective's perspective and intent. Which is essential for the film.

Not only was the acting needing work but also the missing titles. So, who wrote and directed the film. We added that in quickly as possible with the Adobe Pro app since it was mandatory. We then assigned the correct role to each person within the opening film.

For the killing parts that seemed ironic since a monster is stabbing, we couldn't do much about it sadly since we were coming to a deadline within the film itself and our daily lives since the school quarter is coming to an end.  So we hoped for the best. However, we did a bit of transitioning to make it seem a bit more chaotic. Just so it could seem more intense rather than just a straight recording of someone.

But that is all for now. Thank you for reading!

Final Review - Final Task Review

Hello Bloggers! We recently have had one of our close friends review our movie opening for the Final Task. His name is Isaac! So, I put in the USB into the laptop, and played the video.

His reaction was hilarious! And since this was my first time seeing the product finished, it was shocking for me as well. It was eerie, and so suspenseful. Isaac agreed with that as well. We had a couple of laughs of acting. It was interesting seeing how our friends from daily life can act in a film. Including myself, seeing me scream was interesting. Isaac said he loved the film. He loved the plot, he said it was very well made and had a good story to it. However, there was some parts that were not as good. He believes the script is sort of robotic when it came to the chasing scene. There was a pause and it seemed not natural, which I agree with. He also thought the killing scenes were a bit not considered. Because its a bit ironic that the monster is stabbing rather than eating or tackling the victim. But he did like the voiceover, it set the mood for the movie, overall, great film. But that is all for now, thank you for reading.

The Use Of Music - Final Task

Hello bloggers! Me and my group were looking around for music for our film. Since this will be a horror movie, we were looking for something like rock, and with some yelling. Just so we can recreate that chaotic vibe within the film. We aimed for artists like Radiohead, and deftones.

We came across the song Back To School by the music group Deftones. It was perfect! Chaotic, nice sound, good vocals, just amazing.  So I looked up who owned the rights to that song. It turned out to be licensed by Warner Records. I've sent them an email if I could use this song for our film. However, we still haven't received a reply. Also, their company seems hard to reach. It’s email isn’t public, nor phone number is present. Which means I could have possibly sent an incorrect email to the wrong receiver. So what would one do in this situation? Use copyright free music.

Copyright music isn't necessarily bad but it can take time to look for one that is cache and has meaning. Although it is disappointing to not be able to use the music we liked, we still have hope for a response. Yet, this film will come out amazing either way. But that is all for now. Thank you for reading!

Finalizing - Editing

Hey again! Here comes the end of our slope of our editing process. This is where things start to calm down as they get solved. We retrieved the missing footage, and we are back on track.

As I notice things are not as intense, I start giving my opinion on what should we do again. The application I used to sort some of the scenes was Adobe Premiere Pro. I really liked using this application because it helped develop my editing skills further. As well as understand how there are various techniques available when it comes to editing. For adding sound effects, I had to transport a few files. First I recorded the audio on my phone, then I converted it into a MP3 file. After converting it, I had to send it to my email and then add it onto the piece of media. It was a lengthy process after doing a couple, but it was so worth it.

While this approach was time-consuming and oftentimes frustrating, the ultimate product was well worth the effort. Each additional sound effect provided life and dimension to the project, improving the entire watching experience. Moments like this, when the benefits of our effort are visible, remind me of the joy that comes with the skill of editing. Sometimes this even makes me think if this should be my future career. This is what gets me going, so why not!

As the last parts come together and the production nears completion, I am reminded of the fortitude and ingenuity necessary to traverse the twists and turns of the editing process. With each obstacle and lesson acquired, I become not only a better editor, but also a monument to the force of tenacity and devotion in the quest of artistic perfection. But that is all for now. Thank you for reading!
